Ammolite has four grades. Ranging in value, from highest to lowest, AA, A+, A and Standard are assigned mainly based on the number of colours in the stone. The spinel capped stones are cut into calibrated sizes and sold on a per-unit price basis, whilst the natural doublets are sold in free-form shapes based on a particular price per carat for the grade.
Ammolite is important to Feng Shui. Its many colors create a sparkling radiance. It has been called the "Seven Color Prosperity Stone" by several Feng Shui masters.
